I SURE AM! :D

Hello! My name is Christie and I graduated from the NAIT AHT program in 2022! At this point I am still what we call a “Baby Tech”, but that only means that I have so much more to learn and explore! I am so  excited to develop my knowledge, and sharpen my skills; and I am even more excited to share my knowledge with you!
But first, a little bit about myself…

I grew up in Morinville, Alberta and have always had a deep love for animals. My first pet was a dark gray rabbit named Thumper (cliche I know). My next beloved pet was a blue point himalayan, named Sushi, who just recently passed away this summer (2022), at the ripe old age of 17. From there, I branched out to more rabbits, more cats, dogs, chickens, guinea pigs, horses, fish, and any kind of wild critter that I found injured (and nursed back to health). I always strive to give my animals the best and most healthy life possible, and I would love to help you do the same!

My special interests involve anxious, fearful and aggressive pets, Horse Care and Pet Physio/Massage, and SO much more! My plan is to strengthen my skills and build my knowledge on these topics, and help deliver as much information to you as possible!

Outside of the clinic, I love to spend time with my many pets. Most of my hobbies revolve around them. If there is an activity that can involve my horses, I will gladly try it! Throughout my riding career, my horses and I have jumped, skijored, barrel raced (in an english saddle), completed endurance races, drove (carts, toboggans and chariots), participated in obstacle races (while in full costume), gone to Halloween stores to spend the day, competed in mounted archery and much, much more!  Besides my animals, I enjoy drawing, acting, traveling and watching anything animated!
I also make horse hair keepsakes in honor of my horse Buddy, who sadly passed in January of 2020. Feel free to check out my work at Reining Hearts Horse Hair Keepsakes, either on Facebook or Instagram.

I hope you enjoyed this little intro about myself, and I look forward to writing to you all soon!

Cheers, Christie!
